A new year starts at Ottery Scouts

Date: 7th Oct 2024 Author: Nicola Hill

We’ve had a brilliant start to the year with a Scout camp at Huish Woods doing shooting, caving, frisbee golf and archery; Cubs visiting Seaton Wetlands (below), and Explorers completing an epic night walk from Sidmouth to Ottery. We are delighted to have a new Cub leader, Snowy, to continue our Monday night cubs, but are still looking for volunteers for Cubs, Scouts and behind the scenes including fundraising. Please get in touch if you can share any skills with us, or want to learn some more.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
